Planner Date Navigation and Filters

How to move around the planner date range, use quick ranges, show one vehicle's work, and understand which businesses the planner is showing.

Work Planner Team12 April 2026

The planner only makes sense if you are looking at the right range. The date button at the top of the screen is what decides which days load underneath, which overdue jobs are compared against that range, and which notes, quotes, and jobs appear in view.

Using the Date Picker

  • Start and end dates: Planner works on a start date and an end date. The screen refreshes from that exact range when you apply the change.
  • Quick ranges: The built-in shortcuts are Last Month, This Month, Next Month, Next 7 Days, Next 14 Days, and Next 30 Days. The Next days start today, so Next 7 Days is today and the six days after it.
  • Range limit: Planner will not accept a range longer than 90 days. If you need more history or wider reporting, that is usually a sign to move into reporting screens instead of the live planner. To look a year ahead, the Round Value Report shows what your jobs will bring in each of the next 12 months.

Vehicle Filter

Once your business has vehicles, a dropdown showing All vehicles sits beside the date button, or under it on a phone. It narrows the planner to one van's work, so you can see what each van has on, or find the work that still needs one.

  • All vehicles: Everything, as the planner normally shows it. This is where it starts.
  • A van: The jobs and quotes on an unfinished worksheet going out in that van, and the jobs already done in it. Each van shows with its registration, and a sold van stays on the list until it's off its last unfinished worksheet.
  • Not on a vehicle yet: The jobs and quotes that aren't on a worksheet yet, or are on one without a van, and the jobs done without a van.

The filter covers each day's jobs, quotes and completed jobs, the day's totals and tips, the overdue column and the Planner Summary. Notes stay, as they're about the whole day. Picking another option unticks anything you had ticked, so nothing hidden stays selected. If your role only sees your own worksheets, a job on someone else's worksheet only shows under All vehicles.

What the Screen Remembers

  • Your last range: Planner saves the last valid start and end dates you used on your account so the screen can reopen close to where you were working.
  • URL state: The selected range is also written into the page URL. That helps when you refresh the page or return to the planner later in the same browser session.
  • Planner Summary: The summary dropdown underneath the planner toolbar also remembers whether you last left it open or closed.
  • Your vehicle filter: The vehicle you last picked is saved on your account too. If that van is no longer offered, such as once it's sold and off its last worksheet, or when it belongs to a business you haven't selected, the planner goes back to All vehicles.

Business Selection

Planner does not show its own business dropdown inside the screen. It follows the active business selection you already have in the tenant app. If you are working across multiple businesses, the planner can merge the range and working-day setup from those selected businesses. That is why the same date range can look different after you change business selection elsewhere in the app.

How This Affects the Views

  • Summary view: Uses the selected range to decide which day cards appear.
  • Detailed view: Uses the same range but only shows the days allowed by your visible-day settings.
  • Day view: Focuses on one day at a time, but that day still sits inside the active planner range.
  • Calendar view: Fills the selected range out to whole weeks, from the Monday of the week it starts in to the Sunday of the week it ends in, and shows every day, whatever your visible-day settings.
  • Planner Summary dropdown: Uses the selected start and end dates for its totals, even if some weekdays are hidden from the detailed planner by your visible-day settings.
  • Planner Screen: Useful if you want the bigger picture of how the planner is laid out once the dates are set.
  • Planner Settings Popup: Explains how visible days interact with the chosen date range.
  • Update-Date Flow: Covers changing the due date of selected jobs after you have found them in the right range.
  • Dragging and Rescheduling Work: Shows how the range and visible days affect drag-and-drop planning.
  • Round Value Report: The next 12 months, month by month, with each visit on the day the planner gives it.
