Bank Holidays

Choosing whose bank holidays your business keeps, and how they show on the planner and Team › Availability.

Work Planner Team19 October 2026

Choose whose bank holidays your business keeps under Bank holidays in Settings › Organisation Information › Working Days: None, England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland or Ireland. It starts as None, as plenty of businesses work bank holidays.

What It Changes

  • The planner: The day is labelled with the bank holiday, such as Bank holiday: Good Friday.
  • Team › Availability: The day's heading names it. See Team Availability.
  • Giving out work: Everyone counts as off, so giving work on a bank holiday shows a warning. You can still go ahead.
  • Time off: Bank holidays aren't counted as working days in someone's time off.

Jobs due on a bank holiday stay where they are. Non-working day job handling is about your usual days off, not bank holidays, so move a job yourself if you're not working that day.

When a bank holiday falls on a weekend, the weekday that replaces it is the bank holiday, as GOV.UK lists them: Boxing Day 2026 is Monday 28 December, for example.
