The Route Popup on a Collection Sheet

A collection sheet's doors on a map in calling order, with arrival times and the drive, and putting them in a better order with Optimise Order, by dragging them, or by locking stops in place.

Work Planner Team2 November 2026

Route, above a collection sheet's stops, opens a map of the doors still to call on, numbered in the order the sheet calls on them. It's the same popup as a worksheet's, so you can check the round makes sense on the road, and put the doors in a better order to drive.

Which Plans Include It

The Route popup is part of route optimisation, which is included on the Pro and Team plans. On Essential you can add it with the Route Optimisation bolt-on. Without it, the popup explains how to get it. Navigate on each stop works on every plan. Route is only there while the sheet is open and has stops.

What the Popup Shows

  • Summary: Under the title, how many stops are still to call on and, once the route has been worked out, roughly how long the driving takes.
  • One stop per door: A customer who owes on several jobs at one address is one stop, as on the sheet.
  • Starting from: Your phone's location when Work Planner is allowed to use it. Otherwise the business address saved in Organisation Information, and failing that the first stop. The route ends at the last stop.
  • Leaving at: When you set off. It starts at the current time. Before your working day starts it uses the start of the day, and after it ends the start of your next working day, so you can plan the evening before. Change it and the arrival times follow.
  • Arrival times: Each stop has the time the route gets there, allowing a few minutes at each door plus the drive between them.
  • Map and list: The doors as numbered circles with the driving route between them, and the same doors in a list below. Fainter circles are approximate locations, placed from the street, postcode, or town. Each stop in the list has Navigate, for directions in your navigation app.
  • Done stops: Stops already paid or called on aren't shown. The popup says how many have been left out.

Putting the Doors in a Better Order

  • Optimise Order: Works out a quicker order for the stops still to call on, from driving times on the roads, and shows it on the map and in the list with how much driving it saves before anything changes.
  • Moving stops yourself: Drag a stop by the dotted handle on its left, or use the arrows on its right to move it one place at a time. The map and the arrival times follow.
  • Lock: The Lock button under a stop's handle keeps it at its number: the padlock closes and the button is highlighted. Optimise Order and dragging work around it. Locks are saved on the sheet straight away, so they're still there next time, until you unlock them.
  • Apply: Saves the new order to the sheet, and its Order By becomes Manual. Stops already paid or called on go to the top, and stops that couldn't be placed on the map to the end. Cancel puts the current order back.

Optimise Order, moving stops and locks need Update, under Collection sheets on the Roles screen. The Worksheet Route Popup article covers how Optimise Order works in more detail.

Stops Not on the Map

Stops that can't be placed are listed under stops aren't on the map with the reason, such as No address, and are left out of the route. Fix the address, or use Address Lookup on the job or customer to save an exact location.
