Upcoming Jobs Card

What the Upcoming Jobs card counts and how it differs from the separate Upcoming Scheduled Jobs table.

Work Planner Team12 April 2026

The Upcoming Jobs card is the short-range workload signal on the Dashboard. It tells you how many active jobs are due soon, without making you open the planner or Jobs list first.

What It Counts

  • Active jobs only: The card checks active jobs rather than every status.
  • Next 7 days: It looks from today to the same day next week.
  • Due date: A job counts when its Due date falls in that week. A job that is already overdue counts on the Overdue Jobs card instead, even when its following visit is this week.
  • Open upcoming jobs: The link under the number opens the Jobs list on the jobs behind it, filtered by Due date from today to a week today. Any other filters you left on the Jobs list are cleared, so the list matches the count.

What It Does Not Do

  • Not the same as the table: The separate Upcoming Scheduled Jobs widget shows example rows. This card is just the headline count.
  • Not date-range reporting: Like other live workload cards, it does not turn into a historic count when you change the Dashboard date range.
  • Upcoming Scheduled Jobs: Useful when you want to move from the count to actual example rows.
  • Overdue Jobs Card: Helps compare work that is approaching with work that is already late.
  • Jobs List: Where Open upcoming jobs takes you, to see the real jobs behind the number.
  • Dashboard Overview: Covers how this card fits into the Dashboard as a whole.
