Money Received Card
How the Money Received card differs from the work done and what counts as money received.
Money Received shows the payments that came in during the Dashboard's date range, less any refunds you gave in it. It follows the money rather than the work, so it is the counterpart to the Work Done Card and gives you a quick read on cash coming in.
What the Card Counts
- Payments in the period: Completed payments dated within the Dashboard date range. A payment still going through counts once it completes.
- Less refunds: Refunds you gave in the same period are taken off, so the figure shows what you kept rather than everything that came in.
- Not counted: Tips, which have their own Total Tips Card, and opening balances.
- VAT: For a VAT-registered business the figure is before VAT.
- Date sensitivity: Changing the period or business, with the button under the Dashboard title, changes which payments are counted.
How It Differs from Work Done
- Work done is when the work happens: The Work Done card counts a visit once it's done, even if the customer has not paid yet.
- Money received is when the money lands: This card follows the money itself, so it lags the work done when customers pay slowly and leads it when they pay in advance.
- Use both together: A gap between the two that keeps growing is the clearest sign that what you're owed is building up.
Where the Link Goes
Under the figure, Open the payments opens the Transactions List showing the payments for the same dates. The link only shows if your role can see payments.
